Today I had my first laser cutting session, I had the induction last week and it seemed so easy when cutting out that little test piece. However, cutting through this 6mm ply wood was very difficult. I had to go around it about 8 times and even then it didn't cut all the way through.
You are only supposed to have 1 hour on the machine which is nothing, I couldnt even cut out a triangle and I was int here for 2 hours. It is a very lengthy strategy.
The final product I had was very burnt because I was going through it on full power for so long so it didn't turn out too great, However I can easily make it look better in photoshop.
The aim is to photoshop it onto a double door to imply the front door of my restaurant. So hopefully it will look realistic when I am finished with it.
I think on the laser cutter it is a much better effect if you use paper or acrylic. Wood is just too thick.
